Mudhunniez MotoFest ’24

The Mudhunniez race team & VIDRA present a weekend of riding just for women and girls!

The event takes place at our Whiskey Creek riding area, mid-island near Coombs. Camping is encouraged! You’ll meet other like-minded women, learn some skills, and ride the sick trails at Whiskey Creek!

Whiskey Creek is on Vancouver Island, near Coombs, Parksville & Qualicum Beach, which are the nearest towns you might be familiar with.

There are ferries from the mainland that dock in Nanaimo. From Nanaimo it's about 45 min to an hour's drive north on the highway to Whiskey Creek.

About Whiskey Creek

Absolutely!
There is space to camp right in the staging area at the trailhead. There are no hookups or services, though we will have rental outhouses on site for the event.

There is also a campground just down the road, but we don’t have sites reserved there. If you camp there, you’re on your own to make reservations and payment for their sites.

Arrive late in the day on Friday. Check-in time will be announced closer to the event. Parking, including RV/trailer parking will be available from 3pm on Friday.

If you arrive early, be prepared to move your rig if we ask. We need to park everyone tight to fit you all in!

Please leave the guys at home. This is a weekend just for you! We’ve got this, ladies!

We’ll have a few helpful volunteers around to help, that happen to be guys. We're thankful for their help, but this is a ladies’ weekend and it’s your chance to ride with the girls.

If you need a hand with a mechanical issue or need a hand backing up the RV, we'll help you get sorted out!

As for kids, they will need to be supervised at all times, so we don’t want you out in a trail and your kids back at camp on their own.

If you have older daughters that want to ride, that’s awesome, what are you waiting for? Get the girl a ticket!

I guess not, but that’s half the fun!

We've got your meals and snacks covered!

This means more time to ride and socialize with other moto-babes all weekend long!

We love dogs, but we recommend leaving the pooch at home. Believe us, you'll be having a busy weekend and it might not be so fun for Fido. It can get really hot in July, so leaving them in a vehicle is a no-go. If you do bring your pet, please be a responsible pet parent.

You NEED to secure your spot buy buying your ticket online ahead of time. This event typically sells out.

Pre-registration helps us all. It lets us know how many awesome ladies to plan for and it ensures you that there’s a spot for you!

The ticket fees go toward hosting this event!

We pay for insurance, amenities, first aid and more to keep you safe and having fun!

A portion of the registration fee also goes to VIDRA, which is the club the Mudhunniez are a part of. VIDRA stewards the Whiskey Creek Recreational Trails and puts on our Vancouver Island race series. Proceeds from this event help to maintain this area as an awesome trail riding site year round!

We know you wouldn't WANT to cancel your weekend, but sometimes things happen.

If you cancel:

  • before June 1st, we can offer you a full refund
  • from June 1-8, we can refund 50% of your ticket
  • after June 9th, no refunds.

Tickets are transferable. Please let us know if you plan to not attend or to transfer your ticket to another person as there will be info sent out right up until the event.

YES, YES, YES!

We keep the event as safe as possible, but we all know there is an inherent risk to riding and being in the woods. We have a great medical crew who will spend the weekend on site with us to take care of any mishaps!

The Mudhunniez is a girls-only race team that formed out of the Vancouver Island Hare Scramble Series. We put on ladies-only events and love encouraging other women to get out and ride! Find us on Instagram @mudhunniez

Contact us before you register to check.

This event is based in enduro riding on single track trails and does require a dirtbike to do that.

There are some crossover or dualsport bikes that will be suitable and some that won’t. If you have any sort of luggage or mirrors on your bike, you’ll want to be able to strip those right off before you head into the trails. Luggage is heavy and hinders your ability to move around on the bike to control it with proper technique, and it’s extra weight if you drop the bike. Speaking of dropping your bike, be prepared to that it will happen. Usually mirrors are the first casualty. Levers are next. Handguards/brush guards are a good idea.

If you have any questions about your bike or bike prep, please contact us.

Sorry, we do not have rental bikes available for this event. Maybe you can bum a spare off a friend?

.

The Learn to Ride tickets come with a bike and lessons, but that option is for beginners only and the bikes will stay in the Learn to Ride groups.

Sorry, no. This event isn’t suitable for quads. Most of the trails at Whiskey Creek are single track and the instructional clinics will be based on enduro dirt bikes.

No, due to safety and also a chance of getting lost we ask everyone to have a buddy system and nobody rides alone.

We'll help you get into a group though! We've got some great guides to lead and follow you through the trails!

Nah! Come out and have some fun! This is for all skill-levels.

We'll have trails marked out for different skill levels. You can start off with the easy loop! You might find you progress more quickly than you think! You're likely to build confidence riding with other women, and probably learn a few tips and tricks to help you build skills!

We have a complete “A” & "B" level hare scramble course loops for anyone that is an higher level experienced rider.

The basics are: your bike, helmet, riding gear. If you've got a hydropack (CamelBak) backpack, bring it too. It's nice to have water with you in the trail.

You'll likely want to camp too, so bring your camping supplies. We've got your food covered. Please let us know about your dietary requirements when you register... we aim to have something for everyone!
