Oli Nicholson – Newbies
Newbies with Oli is for girls who are very new to biking or haven’t ridden before. The class covers basics like starting, stopping, clutch work, and riding on uphills and downhills to help build your fundamental skills!
How to sign up for your clinic…
It is one clinic per attendee for the full weekend. There will be opportunity to learn from all coaches on Sunday as they will be leading group rides so they can give pointers out in the trails.
You must sign up for a clinic at the time of ticket purchase (refer to above for clinic description)
Frequently Asked Questions
Whiskey Creek is located on Vancouver Island, near the towns of Coombs and Qualicum—both of which you may be familiar with. If you're traveling from the mainland, the nearest ferry terminal is in Nanaimo.
Motofest is located on Melrose Road in Whiskey Creek, Vancouver Island. As you drive up Melrose Road, stay to the right at the fork. The staging area will be a little further along on your right.
More info about Whiskey Creek
Yes, tent camping and trailers are both welcome! Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by parking lot attendants who will gladly direct you to your designated area. Please remember to register your trailer when purchasing your tickets. While we do not have hookups available, there are plenty of clean and accessible outhouses located at the staging area.
You can begin arriving on Friday from 3:00 PM onward. Due to the high number of participants, we will have designated trailer/tent spots. If you arrive before 3:00 PM, you will likely need to move your trailer or tent to the assigned area once our parking attendants arrive.
PLEASE LEAVE THE GUYS AT HOME! Motofest is a special event dedicated to the girls! While we appreciate your desire to bring the guys along, their presence would change the dynamic of the weekend. We do have male volunteers who are carefully selected to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Kids must be supervised at all times. Older daughters who wish to ride are very welcome—be sure to get them a ticket! Contact us for further details!
I guess not, but that’s half the fun!
We provide snacks, water, and Gatorade throughout the entire weekend, along with meals including Saturday lunch (sandwiches), Saturday dinner (burgers), and Sunday lunch (pizza).
IMPORTANT: You will need to bring your own breakfasts and Friday dinner.
**we cannot accommodate allergies/preferences**
NO DOGS, PLEASE—LEAVE THEM AT HOME! While we are all big dog lovers, this weekend is expected to be hot, and you’ll be busy all day. We want to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets, and therefore, we cannot accommodate dogs on-site. Thank you for your understanding!
You NEED to secure your spot by buying your ticket online ahead of time. This event typically sells out and therefore no tickets will be sold at the event.
Ticket fees help fund this large event, covering costs such as coaches, food, insurance, amenities, first aid, and more. Additionally, a small portion of the proceeds is contributed back to VIDRA, which maintains the trails and hosts the VIHSS race series.
Is my ticket refundable?Refunds are available until JUNE 10th (no exceptions). Tickets are also transferable up until a few days before the event. If you need a refund or transfer, reach out to us via email
mudhunniez@gmail.com or alternatively send us a DM on Instagram.
YES! We have a medical crew on site all weekend.
The MudHunniez is a group of 10 local female racers on Vancouver Island. The team was originally founded by two members, Bobbi and Lindsay, after the women’s race category was discontinued due to a lack of participants. Their goal was to help grow the women’s dirt biking community, encourage more girls to get into the sport, and inspire them to race.
Contact us first. This is enduro single track, best suited for dirtbikes. Some dual-sports may work if properly stripped down. Definitely no luggage and you'll want to remove your mirrors. We'll have mechanics that can help with that if need be.
Sorry, we do not have rental bikes for this event. There is NO “Learn to Ride” option this year.
No. This event is not suitable for quads — trails are single track and clinics are for dirt bikes.
No. For safety, nobody rides without a volunteer. Don’t worry, we will help you find a rad group to ride. NO riding Friday - all riding will take place Saturday and Sunday!
No! This is for all skill levels. We have trails marked by difficulty and plenty of support for beginners. This event will be perfect for you!
Yes! We offer full 'A' and 'B' level hare scramble loops for advanced riders.
For gear, please bring your hydration pack, helmet, riding boots, goggles, and body armor. It’s also a good idea to pack a few sets of riding gear (be prepared to get sweaty!)
When it comes to clothing, don’t forget a bathing suit since there is a swimming hole near staging. Because island weather can be unpredictable, a rain jacket is always recommended. And be sure to pack a neon outfit for Saturday’s party.
Regarding bike safety, while we have never experienced theft at our events, it’s always a possibility. We are not responsible for any stolen items, so we strongly recommend bringing chains and locks to secure your bike at nighttime.
Yep! Saturday night we have DJ Inuk spinning at our NEON PARTY!
